Legislation

As a member of the construction industry, you will already be aware of HMRC overhaul of the Construction Industry Scheme, and the new legislation that comes into force in April 2007. It will be your responsibility to pay your subcontractors correctly and your duty to provide detailed monthly returns to the tax man – failure to comply could result in heavy fines.

Therefore the Humber Training Group in partnership with Genesis, Global and Pegasus ran a FREE update session where employers received advice and guidance about the changes and were able to ask questions from the experts.

The following presentations give an outline of what was covered on the day, if you require any further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch htg@hcp.org.uk

Also there is a useful document - called a countdown to CIS and you can use this as a checklist to ensure you have done what you need to. You can find this at: http://www.nscc.bbsnet.co.uk/documents/CountdowntonewCIS_000.pdf and you can also visit the CIS website at www.new-cis.com
